1. Unraveling the scroll
When unwinding, the rope coil should be placed on a special support. Alternatively, a steel pipe can be inserted through the hole in the rope coil, with ropes attached to both ends to suspend it, and the rope coil can be slowly rotated (see the diagram below).

2. Arrangement on the drum of the wire rope
The winding direction of the wire rope on the drum must be based on the twist direction of the wire rope. Right-hand twisted ropes should be arranged from left to right, and left-hand twisted ropes should be arranged from right to left. The winding should be neat and orderly to avoid any off-center or sandwiched phenomena.

3. Cutting
The key to cutting steel wire rope is to cut two edges 10-20mm apart, tie them tightly with wire, and make the binding length 1-4 times the rope diameter, and then cut them with a cutting tool.
Steel wire rope maintenance methods
I. Operation
During operation the wire rope should maintain a stable speed and should not exceed the load limit to avoid impact loads.
II. Maintenance and Care
Wire ropes are coated with sufficient grease during manufacturing, but this grease gradually decreases over time, and dust, debris, and other contaminants accumulate on the surface, causing wear and tear on the rope and sheaves, and eventually rusting. Therefore, regular cleaning and lubrication are essential. A simple method is to use a wire brush and other appropriate tools to remove dust and other contaminants from the surface of the wire rope. Alternatively, molten wire rope grease can be evenly applied to the surface. You can also spray No. 30 or No. 40 machine oil onto the surface, but avoid excessive application that could pollute the environment.
III. Inspection Records
Steel wire ropes must be inspected regularly and records kept. In addition to cleaning and lubrication as mentioned above, regular inspections should also check the degree of wear, broken wires, corrosion, and the wear of vulnerable parts such as hooks, eyelets, and lubrication wheel grooves. Any abnormalities must be addressed or the rope replaced immediately.
